Full-time Programmes

Entry Requirements
  • The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50 – 59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the 2—credit NSC subjects of which English Home Language or English First Additional Language must be one, OR any other recognised equivalent qualification obtained at NQF Level 4.
  • Selection of students will take place and includes a personal interview at our campus in Bellville.
All programmes commence on Tuesday 19 January 2010 with a fun-filled orientation week consisting of the following:
  • An overview of the Hospitality Industry (including visits to hotels, wine establishments, etc.)
  • Team Building Activities
  • Fitting uniforms and discussing the Student Guide

Block Release Programmes

Hamzath Abdullah and Musthafa Ahmed from the One&Only
Reethi Rah, North Male' Atoll, Republic of Maldives attended
the July 2010 Block Release.


Our “block release” programmes are career directed academic programmes developed to assist those individuals who wish to obtain a qualification but are unable to attend a hotel school on a full time basis. The aim of these programmes is to provide opportunities for skills enhancement, for life-long learning as well as developing the managerial skills of those already working in the hospitality industry. IHT Hotel School further wants to use this as an opportunity to assist in redressing the inequalities of the past through the quality education facilitated by our excellently qualified and experienced academic staff.
